NCC Donates Construction Materials to Assist High Park Fire Victims

NCC is pleased to announce that approximately $10,000 of surplus construction materials from our recent Aspen DeConstruct project have been donated to another non-profit. The Northern Colorado ReBuilding Network (NoCo) will use the materials to assist uninsured and under-insured homeowners in rebuilding homes lost to the High Park Fire. Thanks to everyone in the community that contributed to help NCC replace its tool inventory. Donations came from many sources enabling us to move the students onto another successful project at Horsetooth Reservoir within one month.


Loss of Tools in the High Park Fire

Last week we learned that our latest project was destroyed by the High Park fire at 811 Whale Rock Road leaving five students without a training site. Honoring my special request, Poudre Fire Authority Chief DeMint authorized an inspection of the interior of our tool container. Update: June 18th, 2012 It was confirmed on Friday June 15th that 811 Whale Rock Road was completely destroyed by fire. As of that date, this project is permanently inoperational. NCC Receives Funding for Arkansas DeConstruct Project

The National Center for Craftsmanship has received initial funding to develop a substantial DeConstruct™ project at Westminster Village of the Mid-South, a retirement village, on the grounds of former Eaker Air Force Base in Blytheville, Arkansas.
